February 25th- It's been a rough couple of months for me personally, hence the lack of updates. But I'm in a better place, so now it's time to reveal the few fanfiction stories I've posted. I
participated in Ficadraon, a Ron/Draco competition of sorts. While my story didn't win in the competition, it addresses a topic that is only too
familiar to me personally. "You and Me and the Rain Make Three" is adult, so it's on my adult HP page. If you don't know how to find that, email me! I've also written two Slave Breakers stories. First is A Diffident Confidence, and then a sequel posted today, Baby, You Can Drive My Car. All of my
Slave Breakers stories can be found here.
FYI, for anyone following the Maelstrom and Mage saga, it's still being
worked on. Storm got back to me and it appears that there will need to be even more work on it of a different kind. I'm stepping back from that project for a couple of months while I work on some personal issues.
That said, I do have another Wraeththu story in the works which will hopefully be posted soon. I'm also planning finally to write some original fiction, a short story or two. As always, if you have comments,
suggestions, hopes for stories, please email me. Thevina33 at gmail dot com.
March 7th- Shockingly, I've written a short Gimli-centric vignette! It's hosted over at my LJ, In the Shelter of Destroyed Dreams.
It's a very short gap-filler set during The Fellowship's trek through Moria. General rating. And added to my Gimli table of 100 prompts!
March 15th- My Muse has been very busy of late, I'm pleased to say! My second recent Gimli gapfiller can be found here at my LJ,
titled "Unanswerable Questions". I've also posted a new Wraeththu story, Escape from the Flame of Separateness. I submitted an early-era Wraeththu story for a
compilation that Storm is planning to publish, but since it could be quite a while before that happens, I went ahead and wrote a sequel using the characters, setting and cultural elements I created in the first story.
It's a stand-alone, though I'll be pleased when the first one is out there for the public. As if all of that weren't enough, I've written about 2/3 of a longish Slave Breakers story as well! It feels pretty great to be
writing in different realms like this.
April 5th- Two more stories to let you know about, as well as my upcoming work in progress. I wrote another Gimli gapfiller, Elusive
Scents in Wartime set at the Houses of Healing from Pippin's POV. I'm in quite the Gimli groove this spring and have a longer story percolating that will incorporate three of the prompts at once. I also posted a
new Slave Breaker fic, Held in Perfect Trust. That one ended up covering too many topics, so now the third vignette has gone off on its own to develop
into its own story. What I'm super excited about is my WIP for LJ's LGBT Fest. I'll be writing Lord John Grey fanfiction, a subset of Diana Gabaldon's
Outlander stories. I can't get beyond the overwhelming het element in Outlander, but I adore Lord John Grey and his books. This story will be from Hector's POV, so I'm spending a lot of time in my head in
1745 England. :)
April 26th- Well, there's not going to be a lot here to read over the next while as I'm going great guns on my first ever original fic story!! :D I'm very, very excited about it, but I don't want to
leak to much of it in case I do actually publish it. I have a story which will be included in a new Wraeththu compilation due out this summer; I'll post a link to it once it's available for purchase. I'm still working on the
Hector/John Grey story for the LGBT fest and once it's been posted, I'll post a link. But otherwise, it's original fic city! I hope that if any of you have been fans of my writing for a while you'll give it a try whenever it
becomes public.
June 11th- Still going great guns on the original fic; my Wraeththu story has been submitted to the compilation. I've also submitted an article idea to a fabulous independent women's magazine,
Filament Magazine ("The Thinking Woman's Crumpet"), and I really hope the editor will let me write about women slash writers. So
I'm afraid
there's not all that much that's public to post about. EXCEPT that I did self-nominate my three Gimli stories to the 2010 MEFAs this year, and am making some pretty banners for it. Hence what's on my front page.
And please, if you are interested in following me to the land of original fiction and you're not on livejournal, please do drop me a quick email. I'd love to tell you about it. Oh, and I'm also beginning a
Slavebreaker's PWP. Because I miss my Lee/Andrei. ;)
July 14th- I've tried my hand at Lord John Grey fanfiction, and it's now posted here at Archive of Our Own, titled "Love Never
to be Forsworn". It's received some positive feedback and made me more confident at trying my hand at historical fiction. I will indeed be writing an article on slash for Filament! It should be included in the
December 2010 issue. I'm so, so excited about that. Otherwise I'm writing on my original fic, a Gimlific story when he's younger is niggling at me, and I even have started a short HP fic for a friend's
upcoming birthday. But mostly I'm working on original fic, so if you're interested in finding out about it, email me! And do read the LJG story. Feel free to leave a review if you like it.
August 13th- A dear friend of mine who's a diehard Harry/Draco shipper had her birthday this month. While H/D is a ship that normally I steer very clear of, for her I wrote a
little birthday gift fic. And it's barely PG-13, so I can link to it directly here. It's a lighthearted, happy ending story, which, combined with it being H/D, is very atypical for me. But people have enjoyed it, so go and read
if that's your ship! As for other projects, I've just started a new Gimli fic, and I'm working primarily on my original fiction story. I will also be starting a new Wraeththu fic, once again set up in Freygard.
